During this traditional style workshop you will make a pair of silver rings for you to take home and treasure.
Make different rings for a contrasting stack or gift one to a loved one, the choice is yours!

Approximate time: 4-4.5hours (including a break for tea)

After the necessary chats about health and safety, Maria will introduce you to all of the tools you will be using followed by demonstrations on how to use them.

Over the course of the workshop you will learn the following skills;

Measuring working out the ring size required and how to calculate the length of silver needed.
Cutting the silver with a jewellers piercing saw.
Annealing with a gas torch, allowing you to manipulate the metal and add texture.
Forming the silver into a round shape.
Filing the ends and edges.
Soldering to form a continuous ring.
Polishing using emery papers and polishing compounds to achieve the desired finish.
Optional skills – Hammering to create surface textures.
